Curtis Ray Matthews

CAMERON—Curtis Ray Matthews, 80, of Cameron died Monday, July 8, 2024, at his home.

Mr. Matt hew s w a s born Sept. 17, 1943, in Milam County to Robert and Matilda (Janes) Matthews.

He married Carolyn Marie (Koehl) on Dec. 10, 1994.

Mr. Matthews retired from Alcoa after more than 30 years of service.

He had served in the Texas National Guard.

Mr. Matthews was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelley Stanford.

Survivors are his wife, Carolyn Matthews of Cameron; five children, Paul Matthews and wife Lisa of Troup, Scotty Matthews of Black Jack, Susie Hubnik and husband Jimmy of Black Jack, Chad Stanford and wife Lisa of Abilene, Travis Stanford of Abilene; and a son-in-law, Ray Zayed of Austin; also, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
