Darling

Thelma Fay Ferguson Darling, 72 of Milano was born on Oct. 25, 1949, to Henry Alton Ferguson Sr. and Jo Ella Ferguson. She was born and raised in Houston, but always said you couldn’t pay her enough to move back. She resided in Milano for approximately the last 35 years.

Ms. Darling loved decorating her church with the beautiful flower arrangements that she created.

She was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church in Caldwell for many years. She was a true Baptist, and always had food ready for any church gathering.

She had a love and knack for sewing and crafting, with piles of supplies.

Ms. Darling was a people pleaser, a peacemaker, and always was apologizing for everything.

Kayla, her daughter, was her best friend, and her whole world. They loved sharing and reading books and watching Gilmore Girls on repeat, as well as Hallmark Christmas movies.

Ms. Darling died Dec. 21, 2021, at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan.

Survivors are a daughter, Kayla Morris and husband Lincoln; a son, Shawn Darling; a sister, Henri Ferguson; a brother, Henry Alton Ferguson Jr. and wife Michelle; grandchildren Colton Darling and Angelica Briggs; her grandcat, Toffee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
