DeLeon

Victor R. DeLeon, 86, of Rockdale died Monday, May 2, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White i n Temple.

A graveside service was held Friday, May 6, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale with Harry McGuyer officiating.

Mr. DeLeon was born March 10, 1936, to Anselmo and Manuela (Roma) DeLeon in Schoolland (near Nixon).

He worked as an automotive mechanic.

He loved spending time with his grandbabies. He enjoyed working, plowing, farming and fishing and he could often be found sitting in his front yard talking with his friends and neighbors.

Mr. DeLeon was preceded in death by a daughter, Lina Fulkerson; and two granddaughters, Alise Victoria DeLeon and Victoria Mantey.

Survivors are his children, Dora Mantey and husband Marvin, Eloisa Thomas, Otila Hernandez and husband Miguel, all of Rockdale, Patricia DeLeon of Lacy Lakeview, Victor DeLeon and wife Ilona of Elgin, Cynthia Paniagua of Mexia, Dolores Nino of Bryan, Harry McGuyer of San Antonio; also, numerous siblings, 18 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Chris Mantey, Dale Mantey, Troy Bice Jr., Justin Bice, John Curtis and Lee Llanas.

Honorary pallbearers were Josh DeLeon, Pete Riojas, Miguel Hernandez, Victor A. DeLeon and Tyler Fulkerson.
