Vivian Lanell Mayo Dixon, 83 of Georgetown passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, 2024.

She was born in Little Chief, Oklahoma, on April 15, 1941, to Thurmond Guy and Viola Arbina (Davis) Mayo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sharon, and her beloved husband of 40 years, Bill J. Dixon.

She is survived by her faithful canine companion, Heidi; son Tracy Guy Dixon and daughter-in-law Lisa Dixon; sister Vickie (Mayo) Colleen Lambert; stepson Randy Dixon and wife Joani; stepson Rick Dixon and wife Janet.

Vivian leaves behind five grandchildren, Jordan Dixon and wife Callie, Lacey and husband Lance Wostal, Lindsay (Dixon) Bradley, Becky Dixon and Lisa (Dixon) and Mike Appleby; along with six great grandchildren.

Vivian had an amazing and adventuresome life. She spent most of her younger years in Seminole and Midland, and has lived in London, England, Singapore and Texas (her most favorite place in the world). She traveled the world to exotic lands such as Nepal (her favorite), Beirut, Taiwan, Egypt, India, UK, Europe, Malaysia, Costa Rica, Mexico, and all 50 states.

She and Bill tried everything life had to offer. They spent years traveling by motorcoach, motorcycles, horseback, bikes, tractors, trains and planes. Vivian rode camels in Cairo and elephants in Nepal and enjoyed living the country life in Cameron and Gause. She was excited to immerse herself in every adventure. Her final destination was Sun City in Georgetown, where she met so many wonderful friends and enjoyed woodworking, country western dancing, golf cart parades, wine tasting, and meeting up with her friends at Mulligans.

She also leaves behind her dear friend, Will Clark, her faithful companion who kept her schedule full for several years.

Friends may visit the family on Aug. 25, from 4 until 6 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home, 1041 West Hwy 79, in Rockdale.

The service will be held at the Milam County Cowboy Church, 2100 US 77 North, in Rockdale on Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Liberty Community Church, 4856 FM 3242, in Cameron.
