Fernando Flores, 77, passed away on May 30, 2024, at Rockdale Estates.

Funeral services were held at St . Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale on Monday, June 3.

Visitation with Rosary was held Sunday, June 2, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. Flores was born on Sept. 8, 1946, in Rockdale to Reina G. Flores and Abraham Joe Flores.

He lived in Rockdale for most of his life, which is where he met his wife, Aretha Miller in 1992. They were married in 1998 at the Aycock Center, their marriage was then blessed by St. Joseph Catholic Church in April of 2021.

Mr. Flores was a heavy equipment operator, mastering his craft of finish blade man until his retirement at age 62.

He enjoyed playing pool and making barbecue for his family. He won multiple competitions for both all across Texas.

Mr. Flores was preceded in death by his father, Abraham Joe Flores; his mother, Reina G. Flores; paternal grandparents Paula and Vicente Flores; maternal grandparents Pablo and Antonia Garcia; and a brother, Felix Flores.

Survivors are his wife, Aretha; his children, Paula Yvonne Flores-Calderon and husband Javier, Yvette Flores and husband David, Simon Flores; and two stepchildren, Shanita Tindle and Demarcus Tindle.

Also, siblings Fred Flores and wife Louisa, Belia Garcia and husband Tony, Mary Real and husband Miguel, Joe Flores Jr., Diane Flores, Ricky Flores and wife Liz, Sandra Barton and husband Greg; as well as 29 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale.
