Galbreath
Wanda Walthall Galbreath, 84, of Round Rock, formerly of Rockdale, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at San Gabriel Rehabilitation & Care Center in Round Rock.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 21, at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale with Pastor Suellen Myers, Pastor Andrew Dietzel and Rev. John Seaton officiating. Burial was at Salty Cemetery near Thorndale.
A memorial service is pending at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, 606 W. 15th St., in Austin.
Mrs. Galbreath was born Nov. 26, 1933, in Taylor to Drew and Luna (Bowers) Walthall.
On Dec. 21, 1952, she married Thomas Otto Galbreath in Thorndale.
Mrs. Galbreath worked as a substitute teacher in the Rock-dale ISD and was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Martin’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Austin and St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale.
She was a former member and past president of Rockdale Lions Club.
Before moving to Rockdale, the Galbreaths owned a ceramic shop.
Mrs. Galbreath was a seamstress and made many of her children’s clothes.
She enjoyed playing “Chicken Foot.”
Mrs. Galbreath was preceded in death by her husband, Tom on Aug. 4, 2004; a brother, Drew Walthall Jr.; a sister, Geraldine Zavodny; and her parents.
Survivors are a son, Brian Galbreath of Rockdale; three daughters, Linda Zander of Round Rock, Brenda Baker and husband Jim of Rockdale, Debra Wiederhold and husband Don of Hutto; 10 grandchildren, Erin Weaver, Chad Zander, Jennifer Stanley, Thomas Lumsford, Ryan Zander, Tanya Baker, Laura Bauer, Daniel Wiederhold, Sabrina Beeman, Celina Galbreath; nine great-grandchildren, Ryan Drake, Shelby Weaver, Carter Stanley, Zachary Zander, Zoe Zander, Henry Stanley, Zayda Zander, Lukas Bauer and Wyatt Zander.
Pallbearers were Chad Zander, Ryan Zander, Colin Stanley, Tommy Lumsford, Daniel Wiederhold, Stephen Weaver, Randy Zavodny and Matthew Bauer.
Honorary pallbearers were Erin Weaver, Jennifer Stanley, Tanya Baker, Laura Bauer, Sabrina Beeman, Celina Galbreath, Erin Zander, Billy Darrell Ogea, Thomas Lynn Ogea, Billy Dale Galbreath and Gary James Galbreath.
