Garmon
Juanita (Nita) Morean Garmon, 70, of Rockdale, formerly of Temple, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, at her home in Rockdale.
Mrs. Garmon chose to be cremated and buried alongside her husband in Moody Cemetery.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
She was born Dec. 9, 1948, to Eugene and Morean (Walker) Jones in Houston.
On Dec. 29, 1967, she married Billy Garmon of Moody.
Mrs. Garmon worked in the medical field as a bookkeeper and pharmacy technician for 25 years before leaving that industry.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband for a number of years and working with him on power plant outages as a journeyman construction hand.
After he had open heart surgery, life got difficult for them as his health declined. He died suddenly on June 13, 2007.
After his passing, she went through some difficult times and even became homeless for a short period. But she never lost hope and with help from strangers, her family and her faith in her Savior Jesus Christ, she re-established herself.
She loved animals and helped any that came her way.
Mrs. Garmon never met a stranger and attracted many friends wherever she went.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ben Vernon.
Survivors are two daughters, Sherri Moses and husband Ray of San Antonio, Christi Carro and husband John of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Benjamin Moses, Dana Moses, Jake Carro and Kate Carro; and two brothers, Eugene Jones Jr. and wife Judy, John Jones and wife Cher, all of Florida.
