Griffith
Funeral service were held Monday, June 20, 2022, at Knobbs Springs Baptist Church in McDade with Rev. David Atwood, Pastor Jonathan Meyers and Victor Gonzales officiating. Interment followed at Adina Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sunday, June 19, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mr. Griffith was born Oct. 1, 1934, in Lexington.
On July 27, 1957, he married the love of his life, Jean Smith, in Abilene.
He worked as a crane operator at Alcoa in Rockdale for 27 years before he retired.
Mr. Griffith was a member of Knobbs Springs Church in McDade.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and camping on Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma and Lake Austin.
Mr. Griffith was preceded in death by his parents, Monas and Katie Lee Griffith; brothers Calvin Griffith, John Griffith and wife Ida; sisters Betty Lois Underwood and Anna Talent; father and mother in-law MW and Minnie Smith; brothers-in-law Wallace, Alvin, Carl, William and Robert Smith, Joe Ballanger and George Hollowell; sisters-in-law Mary and Chuck Laughlin, Loree and Loren Hill, Ora Vee Smith, Lovetta and Butch Mayhugh; nephews Bill Griffith, James “Pokey” Talent, Terry Mayhugh; and nieces Saundra Rivers and Amanda Stantzenberger.
Survivors are his loving wife of 63 years, Jean Smith Griffith of Lexington; sons Kenneth Griffith and Jerry Griffith, both of Lexington; daughter Vickie Griffith Iselt and husband Ferman “Tooter” of Giddings; a brother, Alfred Griffith of Abilene; sisters Linda Stagner and husband Kelvin, and Glenda Collier, all of Abilene; six grandchildren, Amber Iselt Dockery and husband George, Nathan Iselt and wife Callie, all of Lexington, Jerrett Griffith and wife Christy, Sarah Griffith, Aaron Griffith, all of McDade, and Emily Griffith Kylberg and husband David of Elgin; nine great-grandchildren, Madyson Iselt, Koal Dockery, Kadarina Iselt, Lois-Ann “Tori” Iselt, Gaven Tillery, Carter Iselt, Karlie Griffith and Tristan Griffith, all of Lexington, and Reid Kylberg of Elgin; and one great-great-grandson, Rayden Iselt; also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Jackie Moses, Jimmie Dale Robertson, Darrell Griffith, Aaron Griffith, Nathan Iselt and Koal Dockery.
