Helen Louise Parten

Helen Louise Parten, 85, of Rockdale died Thursday, March 28, 2019, at St. David’s Hospital in Round Rock.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rock-dale.

Ms. Parten was born Feb. 24, 1934, to Ernest P. and Bessie Lucille (Region) McLoud in Rising Star.

She worked various jobs throughout her life but her favorite was being a homemaker and raising her children.

Ms. Parten was preceded in death by three sons, Jessie James Mayfield, Mike Phillip Mayfield and Scotty Ray Cunningham; a daughter, Esther Ruth Cunningham; and a brother, Nathan McLoud.

Survivors are her daughter, Tammy Cain of Milano; four sons, Mark Mayfield of Georgia, Glenn Mayfield and wife Judy, Daniel May-field, all of Rockdale, Randy Mayfield and wife Heather of Corsicana; and a sister, Hazel Lee of Cross Plains; also, 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
