Peggy Louise Dreher Hosek, age 86, of Gatesville passed away June 6, 2020, in Gatesville.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Methvin of the Rockdale Apostolic Faith Church officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation was Tuesday, 9 a.m. until service time.

Peggy was born on Nov. 15, 1933, in Milam County. She was the daughter of Jerome and Myrtle (Rozell) Dreher.

She was a life-long resident of Rockdale and had lived in Gatesville with her daughter for the past three years.

She and Jerry Hosek were married on Feb. 17, 1951.

Peggy had worked as district secretary for State Representatives Dan Kubiak and L.B. Kubiak, she was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church in Rockdale, and was the valedictorian of the RHS Class of 1951.

Peggy loved painting, crocheting and being with her church family. She witnessed for Christ to everyone she met, and enjoyed singing, playing the piano and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Hosek; daughter, Karen Rosenberg; brother, William H. “Jack” Dreher; sisters, Vera H. Robinson, Estelle Muston, Geraldine Hosek, Johnnie Sue Roberts and Marilyn Marie Orsak.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Debbie Ament and husband Charles of Gatesville; son-in-law, Ray Rosenberg of Austin; grandchildren, Austin Ament, Jared Ament, Chase Butschek, Jillian Ament and fiancée Chris Davis, and Colin Butschek and wife Katlyn; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Austin Ament, Jared Ament, Chase Butschek, Colin Butschek, Charles Ament and Chris Davis.

Honorary pallbearers were the men of the Rockdale Apostolic Faith Church, Floyd Pletcher, Bobby Byrd, Steven Roberts, Ray Rosenburg and Dr. L.B. Kubiak.
