Pansy Florine Houston, 87, of Hearne died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, in Bryan.

Service were held Tuesday Oct. 31, at Phillips & Luckey Funera l H ome in Rockdale with Pastor Dana Altimore of ficiating. Interment

was at Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Houston was born May 26, 1936, to William Clarence and Vera Lee (Anthis) Doss in Lee County.

She moved to Hearne in 2016 after the death of her husband to be near her family.

She was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School in Houston and retired after 27 years as a communications secretary with the Houston Fire Department.

Mrs. Houston was preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. Houston Sr.; her parents, William Clarence and Vera Lee Doss; and a son, Doug Harris.

Survivors are a son, Sam Houston of Hearne; a daughter, Carol Harris Dornak and husband Ron of Ridge; and her grandchildren, Alyssa Houston and husband Chuy Montellano, Hannah Houston, Troy Dornak, Travis Dornak and Crystal Dornak.
