Hurta

CENTERVILLE—Annie Louise Hurta died Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 19, at New Salem Cemetery Chapel in the Centerview community of Leon County with Bro. Bobby Burleson officiating. Interment followed at New Salem Cemetery adjacent to the chapel.

Mrs. Hurta was born May 18, 1929, on her family’s farm in Centerville to Teddy Rudolph and Mae (Farris) Rodell.

She married Leon Hurta of Granger on July 31, 1947, and they were married 63 years.

Mrs. Hurta was a seamstress and had also worked at Rockdale Floor Covering and Sears.

Following retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Hurta purchased a motorhome and enjoyed traveling.

Mrs. Hurta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon Hurta; a granddaughter, Christina Louise Dees; a sister and brother-in-law, Mattie Mae and W.A. Jones; a brother and sister-in-law, Teddy Ray and Anna Jane Rodell; a brother, Adolph Rodell; a sister-in-law, Beth Rodell; a brother-in-law, Arthur Dunn; and three sons-in-law, Mike Fuller, Jerry Young and Randall Hackfi eld.

Survivors are three daughters, Linda Young of Athens, Janie Fuller of Baytown, Rebecca Dees (Charles) of Baytown; four grandchildren, Stephanie Esmond of Athens, Michael Fuller and Joseph Dees, both of Baytown, Jonathan Fuller of Houston; a great-grandson, Kyle Fuller; two sisters, Donna Melcher (Bob) of Rockdale, Christine Dunn of Centerville; and a brother, Dan Rodell of Centerville; also, numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Michael Fuller, Jonathan Fuller, Joseph Dees, Matthew Dunn, Jamie Dunn and Christopher Beason.

Honorary pallbearer was James Dunn.
