Jones

Steven Edward “Babo” Jones, was born to Ed and Evelyn Jones in Pendleton, Oregon, on Feb. 24, 1952, a birthday he shared with his father.

He was raised in the hills of the Ozarksin Missouri.

He married Rebecca Jean Peck in 1968 and died in her arms on June 10, 2020.

The services to celebrate his life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at Milano First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until service time at the church.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Jones worked as a master electrician for most of his life until he retired in 2011.

However, the love for his seven children, 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren is what he would have considered his “life’s work.”

Mr. Jones enjoyed fishing, camping, working with his sons, Facebooking, and, most of all, spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Jones; a son, Timothy Edward Jones; a brother-in-law, George Jones; and a granddaughter, Melodie Hope Jones.

Survivors are his daughters, Angie Gaston and husband Jeremy, Melissa Evans and husband Ryan, all of Gause, Heather Smith and husband Matt, Candi Harris and husband Tony, all of Hollister, Missouri; his sons, Jeff and wife Jimann of Milano, Nathan and wife Monica of Hearne; his mother, Evelyn McDonald of Rockdale; his sisters, Sherry Jones, of Oklahoma, Suzy Stewart and husband Rod of Rockdale.

Also, his grandchildren, Victoria Gaston, Benjamin Gaston, Madeline Lehman, Hayley Arndt, Jaykob Arndt, Skyler Evans, Natalie Jones, Jessica Shilling, Kelsey Chase, Matthew Chase, Zachary Smith, Luke Smith, Hunter Harris, Trace Harris, Maggie Harris and Cole Harris; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and pets.
