ValGene “Gene” Jones, 88, of Rockdale went to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Bro. Barry Methvin officiating.

The family will receive visitors at 10 a.m. Friday at Mr. Jones the funeral home.

The family will have a private graveside service at Blackjack Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was born March 18, 1934, in Rockdale to Henry and Elgie Jones.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1957 and was a proud patriot.

He was a truck driver for 60 years, traveling the countryside.

Survivors are his loving wife of 30 years, Edna Jones; two daughters, Teresa Diane Harriet and Gena Michel Kennet; a son, Ronald Gene Jones; and two stepsons Randall and Edward Cotton.
