Kraatz

Funeral services for Terry Ben Kraatz, 56, of Thorndale will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2019. Visitation be from 10 a.m. to 12-noon Friday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rock-dale. Mr. Kraatz died unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 15, at his home in Thorndale.

He was born June 18, 1962, in Dallas to Ben Pettis and Minnie Beatrice (Works) Kraatz.

He graduated Rockdale High School in 1981. Mr. Kraatz served in the U.S. Navy for four years. After his service, he married Christine Forbs on Nov. 23, 1996, in Port Lavaca. He enjoyed fishing, watching football, barbecuing and spending time with family. Mr. Kraatz was preceded in death by his father, Ben Petis Kraatz in 1962; a brother, Ricky Kraatz in 2000; three sisters, Patricia “Pat” Clark in 1992, Barbara McBride in 2007, Virginia Kraatz in 2018; and his stepfather, John Alford in 2002.

Survivors are his wife, Christine Kraatz of Thorndale; his mother, Minnie B. Alford of Minerva; a sister, Wanda Kraatz of Rockdale; and nine nieces and nephews, Karen Neely, William Simmons, Christy Poehl, Lee Clark, Travis Clark, Stacy Farr, Shannon Farr, Kari Jordan and Nikki Manas; also, several great-nieces and great-nephews. Memorials may be made to your local VFW Post or an armed services charity of your choice.
