LaNell Mills

LaNell Mills 73, of Rockdale, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, with family at her bedside.

LaNell was born in Cameron on Oct. 14, 1951, to Irene (Frith) and Odie Mills.

She grew up in the Milano and Liberty areas, going to Milano schools.

LaNell was a homemaker and mother to two boys and she was always ready to play games, loved to fish, garden and go coon hunting. She loved all outdoor activities. She liked to write poems and share them with others. She was an excellent cook and made the best cinnamon rolls ever. She had battled a number of health issues for the last few years.

LaNell was preceded in death by her parents and youngest son Michael Jones.

She is survived by one son, Clay Jones and wife Michele; grandchildren Ashley Lacomb and husband Johnathan, Alyssa Jones, Russell Jones and Sarah Jones.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Billy Mills and wife Judy, Prescellia Warren and husband Wayne, Gloria Follis and husband Bill, James Mills and wife Ethel, Jimmy Mills and Bert Mills; also, many nieces and nephews.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the angels on STC4 BSWH for the care given our mother/ sister. Every one of them could not have been more gentle and kind.

A memorial is planned for a later date.
