Laughlin

Glennie Lee Laughlin, 94, of Thorndale died Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, in Austin after a short illness.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Lawrence Chapel Cemetery, with Rev. Jeff Stull officiating.

Mrs. Laugh- Mrs. Laughlin lin was born

March 8, 1923, to Oscar William and Melissa Leonora Smith at their home in the Shiloh community.

She married Jesse Kevil Laughlin on June 26, 1944. They lived in Agua Dulce and later moved to their home in Robs-town.

Mrs. Laughlin worked for Nueces Electric Co-op until she retired.

She returned to the rural community area she was born and always loved.

Mrs. Laughlin enjoyed spending time outside tending to her plants and flowers, feeding and watching the native birds and, most of all, spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Kevil Laughlin; her parents, Oscar William and Melissa Leonora Smith; and three brothers, Wilmer Otis Smith, James Theodore Smith and Harvey Charles Smith.

Survivors are a son, William Laughlin and wife Holly of Cedar Park; a daughter, Sara Taylor and husband Larry of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Alexa Taylor and husband Scott, Michael Taylor and wife Rebecca, and Elise Laughlin; three great-granddaughters, Madeleine Taylor, Maya Taylor and Hazel Mattson; and two brothers, Nathan Oscar Smith, Leonard Charles Smith and wife Barbara; also, numerous nieces and nephews.
