Lizzie Lucas

Lizzie Lucas, 99, of Rock-dale died Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in Spring.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 8, at Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale with Rev. Gary Veit officiating. Burial was at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Mrs. Lucas was born Jan. 18, 1920, in Bushdale to Herbert and Lydia (Stork) Menn.

On Aug. 27, 1938, she married Doyle Lucas at Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale.

Mrs. Lucas was a homemaker, a member of Peace Lutheran Church and New Salem Extension Club in Rockdale.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle Lucas; a daughter, Janet Fain; a grandson, David Fain; three brothers, Edwin Herbert Menn, Rubin Adolph Menn and Marvin Menn; three sisters, Linda Lydia Tuma, Helen Christine Shoppa and Wallie Straach; and two sons-in-law, Aubrey Hyatt and John Fain.

Survivors are three daughters, Nelda Hyatt of Spring, Shirley Sharp and husband Cameron of Fairfield, Joyce Lerche and husband Nolan of Dime Box; a sister, Flora Mae Gillespie of Beaumont; and 10 grandchildren, August Lynn, Donna Fain, Diane Hutchings and husband Wayne, Rhonda Baker and husband Bryan, Laura Capehart and husband Mike, James Sharp, Brian Lerche, Amy Lovetinsky and husband Kyle, Karen Merritt and husband Michael and Tiina Fain; also, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Justin Arce, Brian Lerche, Bryan Baker, James Sharp, Rodney Lucas and Douglas Lucas.
