Maker
Helen Maker, 83, entered the presence of her Lord on April 27, 2019, in Modesto, California.
She was born Feb. 24, 1936, in Chriesman to Jasper and Lillie (Kellar) Arnold.
Mrs. Maker grew up in the
Hoskins Spring community, Chriesman, and Rockdale.
She dedicated herself to a career in education, earning masters degrees in Texas and New Mexico. She served in education for 32 years as a teacher, certified reading specialist, curriculum coordinator, school principal, and a district public relations director.
She married Dennis Maker on April 16, 1976, and lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, until she retired to Oak Hill Ranch, in Burleson County.
She enjoyed nature, oil painting, reading, traveling, giving educational scholarships, praying for and encouraging others. She finished well!
Survivors are her sisters, Marie Briles (Ross) and Laura Galloway (Jim), and families.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Dennis.
Her “Celebration of Life” will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Friendship Baptist Church in Caldwell.
