Maria Margarita Holalde Garcia

Maria Margarita Holalde Garcia, 80, of Ama r i llo went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023.

She was born to Emilio and Elena Holalde in Amarillo on June 10, Mrs. Garcia 1943.

In 1966, she met the love of her life, John Garcia of Rockdale, who had served in the Air Force for 22 years. They were married for 55 years and traveled the world together. One of her favorite places to travel was Italy.

She enjoyed reading and loved taking videos, pictures of her family and making memories.

One of her favorite quotes was “It’s never goodbye, it’s see you later.”

Maria was a beautiful woman of God and full of faith, even in her last hours, she was praising the Lord. Her heart’s desire was for all of her family to know the Lord Jesus Christ and have a personal relationship with him.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emilio and Elena Holalde.

She is survived by her husband, John Garcia of Rockdale; five children, son Johnny Garcia Jr., daughter Karen and husband Martin Juarez, son Joe and wife Sandra Camarda, daughter Melody Black, and son Mario and Monica Garcia.

She will also be remembered by 13 grandchildren, John, Christina, Lawrence, Joe, Andrew, Cathy, Lisa, Joseph, Jacob, Jordan, Roman, Sofia and Lexis; 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, four brothers, four sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, and everyone knew her as “Nana.”

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at New Jerusalem “ITGW” Church, 103 Mulberry St. in Rockdale.
