Martindale

Joan Cryer Martindale, 69, of Caldwell, formerly of Milano, died Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Copperas Hollow Nursing Home in Caldwell.

M e m o r i a l services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Dave Lucas officiating.

Mrs. Martindale was born Jan. 5, 1953, in Cameron to Arthur Lonnie and Gertrude (Freeman) Cryer.

She lived the past eight years in Caldwell and was formerly of Milano.

She was a certified nurse’s aide.

She was baptized in the Church of Christ in Belton.

Mrs. Martindale loved to needlepoint, listening to music, a good cold Coke-a-Cola and her grandchildren.

She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Carpenter; her husband, John Martindale; her parents, Arthur and Gertrude Cryer; a sister, Terry Cuba; and a brother, Murris Cryer.

Survivors are a daughter, Tracy Walker of Caldwell; six grandchildren, Cody Walker of Corpus Christi, Forrest Walker and wife Janessa of Temple, Kyel Walker of Caldwell, Ashley Walker of Dallas, Kenneth Carpenter of Lufkin and Elizabeth Carpenter of Lufkin; a brother-in-law, Gene Cuba of Pasadena; four nieces, Rhonda Freeman of Temple, Gena Stanford of Caldwell, Pamela Carlson of Georgetown and Becky Grove of Houston; and a nephew, Ronald Cuba of Fort Worth.
