Mitchell

It is with great sadness that the family of Kimberly Michelle Mitchell announce her passing on Jan. 12, 2022. Kimberly was born in Rockdale on July 16, 1961, to Edna and Carnell Mitchell. She was beloved by many and a stranger to none.

Kim grad uated from Rockdale High School in 1979 and attended Prairie View A&M University.

She worked as a corrections officer and at Alcoa before settling into the job she loved— landscaping. She worked and remained in Rockdale until her death.

Kim loved people and those who knew her benefited from her service and help in many ways.

She is survived by her beloved son, Patrick Carnell Mitchell; and her siblings, Bonnor Galloway (Diana), Elizabeth Galloway-McQuitter, Deneene Mitchell (Felix), Delbert Mitchell; also, special nieces and nephews, special cousins and a tight-knit loyal group of relatives and friends.

Her wake and funeral service will be held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 22, at 1 p.m., respectively.
