Pastor Ronnie Lee Morgan Sr., 72, departed this life Sunday, June 9, 2024.

The visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at Grant Worship Center in Austin. Interment will be at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 2.

Rev. Morgan was born June 3, 1952, in Rockdale to Willie Ray Morgan and Erma Jean Gadison.

He married Carolyn Elaine Smith on May 30, 1981, in Austin.

Rev. Morgan proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired after 24 years as a Master Sergeant (E-7) from the Judge Advocate Office as legal administrator and paralegal.

He retired after 25 years from the Texas Department of Environmental Qualities (TCEQ). He was the program supervisor for the paralegal and information technology team in the General Law Division – Office of Legal Services.

Rev. Morgan was the pastor of Springfield Baptist Church in Rockdale. He cared for and loved the Springfield Church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Ray Morgan and Erma Jean Morgan; his sister, Patsy Elaine Morgan; and son Edward James.

Survivors are his wife, Carolyn Morgan; his children, daughter Erma Jean Morgan and son Ronnie Lee Morgan Jr. aka “RL”; Rhonda LaShaun Morgan- Adams and Terrence Eugene Morgan; grandchildren Jordan Zirell Morgan, Stephaun Hasan Malachi Fuller, Leighamarie Heaven’Le Morgan and Sir Christian Morgan.
