Mrs. Vargas
Mrs. Vargas died Sunday, Aug. 11, at her home near Rockdale.
She was born Dec. 11, 1944, in Pearsall to Ricardo and Patricia (Hernandez) Vargas.
She married Nestor S. Vargas on April 15, 1960, in Crystal City. They moved to Rockdale and she had been a Rockdale resident for the past 30 years.
Mrs. Vargas was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening and working in her home.
Mrs. Vargas was preceded in death by her husband, Nestor S. Vargas; a brother, Rudy Vargas; a sister, Estella Vargas; and her parents.
Surviving are four sons, Robert Vargas and wife Eloisa, Gerardo Vargas and wife Eliza, Antonio Vargas and wife April, all of Rock-dale, Ernesto Vargas and wife Laysha of Bastrop; a daughter, Irene Vargas and husband Juan Pallares of Buda; four brothers, Manuel Vargas of Pearsall, Abraham Vargas of Devine, Richard Vargas of San Antonio, Jesse Vargas of Chicago, Illinois; and three sisters, Gracie Tovar of San Antonio, Juana Cardenas of Zion, Illinois, Yolanda Almendarez of Young America, Minnesota.
Pallbearers were David Rivera, Charles Rivera, Daniel Rivera, Jerry Alan Vargas, Zane Trevino and Ernie Vargas.
