Nan Wiginton Clayton
AUSTIN—Nan Wiginton Clayton, 86 of Austin, formerly of Rockdale, died June 7, 2019, at her home in Brookdale Round Rock with her family nearby.
Her body was cremated. interment will be at Cook/Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Austin at a later date.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at St. Luke’s on the Lake Episcopal Church in Austin.
Mrs. Clayton was born April 5, 1933, in Lubbock to C.E. “Dutch” Wiginton and Faye George.
She married Allan G. Clayton on June 28, 1952, in Lubbock.
The Claytons moved to Rock-dale in 1953, where they resided for over 45 years.
Mrs. Clayton was involved with the MARC Center, the library and St. Thomas Episcopal Church Altar Guild. She was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
In 1996, the Claytons retired to Round Rock, where Mrs. Clayton was active with St. Luke’s.
She was a seamstress and enjoyed Round Rock Express baseball games and watching the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
In later years, she was a resident of Brookdale Senior Living in Round Rock.
Mrs. Clayton was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allan, on March 21, 1998; and a brother, Jay Wiginton.
Survivors are her children, Steve (Diane) Clayton of Austin, Judy (Jimmy) Voyles of Rockdale, Diana (David) Isbon of Arlington, Lynn (Marty) Sawyer of Houston; a sister, Sue (Tommy) Morris of Seymour; a sister-in-law, Laverne Wiginton of Canyon Lakes; four nieces, Cindy, Becky, Lauren and Lindsay; three nephews, Brian, Craig and Colin; and five grandchildren, James Voyles, Brad Isbon, Mary Isbon, Emily Clayton Harris and Mitchell Sawyer.
