Noak
Marcella Noak of Rock-dale moved on to be with the Lord on Nov. 13, 2018, at age 81, in the company of family, surrounded by friends and prayer.
She was born in Wichita Falls on June 21, 1937 to James and Francis Reid.
Marcella was a kindred spirit with a heart of service, who never met a stranger. She lived for her family and helping others in her community. She helped to raise all of her grandchildren at various times throughout their lives.
Marcella utilized her home as a safe haven for not only her family, but the community in need by welcoming those who weren’t a part of a family to become a part of hers. She loved and has been loved by countless families in the Milam County area.
During the early 1980s to late 1990s, Marcella operated a babysitting ministry from her home where she excised her God-given fortuity to assist the community, love on children and families and spread the love of Christ to countless people. Through this opportunity she forged lifelong relationships with parents and children who would still stop by and visit even after 10-20 years had passed.
She spent the remainder of her life opening her home and loving whoever was willing to receive that love.
Though she is with our Lord, she will be greatly missed and admired for eternity in our hearts. 1 Peter 4:8: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” John15:12: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”
Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Waldemar Noak, and her beloved daughter, Cynthia Grahm.
She is survived by her sister, Shirly Dirksey; daughter Elaine Barger; sons Barry, Gary and Christopher Lyon; stepchildren Lisa Kerline and Eddie Noak; along with grandchildren Denice Jones and Laura Cate and a score of beautiful great-grandchildren.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at Rockdale Christian Fellowship Church, 811 Burleson St., on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m., led by Pete Belew.
