Betty Northcott, 90, of Thorndale died Saturday, May 9, 2020, at Renaissance Villa in Rockdale. Services

Mrs. Northcott was born in Granger on Jan. 30, 1930, to Herschel Alexander and Laura Blanche (Sedberry) Rogers. On March 25, 1949,

On March 25, 1949, she married W.E. “Gene” Northcott at the Methodist Church in Granger. They lived in Austin, Dallas, Wichita Falls and Denver, Colorado, while he managed Luby’s in those areas and she was the homemaker.

Before returning to Thorndale, Mrs. Northcott worked as a secretary with the Texas Highway Department.

They came to back to Thorndale in 1967 to farm with her brother, William Rogers.

Once home, Mrs. Nortcott went back to homemaking and making sure the farm was running smoothly and efficiently.

She enjoyed singing, cooking and baking.

Mrs. Nortcott had served as church clerk and Sunday school teacher at San Gabriel Baptist Church and later placed her membership with Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Rock dale.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Gene Northcott on Feb. 6, 2020; her parents, Herschel and Blanche Rogers; a sister, Nola Jordan; and three brothers, Wayne, William and Leroy Rogers.

Survivors are her children, Gary A. Northcott and wife Jenny of Thorndale, Diane Hernandez and husband Hector of Thorndale; three grandchildren, Chris Northcott and wife Paula, Crystal Wetter and husband Bobby, Kelly Northcott and wife Selena; two step-grandchildren, Marcus Shelton and wife Traci, and Nicholas Shelton; seven great-grandchildren, Kyle, Emily and Shane Northcott, Kobe, Bryant, Billy and Ally Wetter; three step-great-grandchildren, Barrett, Tatum and Everett Shelton; a nephew, Phillip Rogers; a niece, Rita Bowen; a brother-in-law, Ray Barron; and a sister-in-law, Doris Carlson.

Pallbearers will be Donald Barron, Kelly Northcott, Bobby Wetter, Kyle Northcott, Billy Carlson and Lee Jenkins.
