Jewel Burns Petty, 99, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, in Victoria.

Graveside services were held at Sharp Cemetery on Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Mrs. Petty was born March 7, 1919 in Davilla to Wilson and Beatrice (Condra) Burns.

She was married to Neuman Raney Petty on Sept. 4, 1937. They resided in Sharp until 1959 when they moved to Victoria.

Mrs. Petty was a member of the Sharp Presbyterian Church.

She was a wife, mother, mom, grandmother, GG, and friend.

Mrs. Petty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Neuman Raney Petty; a daughter, Marilyn Jo Beams and her husband Jesse Floyd Beams; three sisters, Christine McKethan, Florine McDonald and Rosalea Keller; and a brother, James Burns.

Survivors are a daughter, Barbara Ann Brown of Victoria; a son, Raney Dale Petty and his wife Cathy of Leander; her grandchildren, Brenda Beams of Austin, Becky and Stan Kubicek of Brenham, Beth Jones of Victoria, Michelle and Eddie Phelps of Katy, Jeff and Jamie Brown of League City; her great-grandchildren, Skylar, Eli, Ryan, Emily, Austin, Cody and Joey; and a sister, Billie Laning of Llano; also, numerous nieces and nephews.
