Rachel Aguilar

Rachel Aguilar, 91, of Rockdale died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at Winnie L Nursing Home in Cameron with her family by her side.

A funeral ser v ice was held Mond a y , D e c . 13, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Mrs. Aguilar was born March 14, 1930, to Sidronio and Pauline (Moreno) Silva in Milano.

On Dec. 29, 1952, she married Domingo Aguilar Sr. in Rockdale. They spent 64 years together until his death on June 4, 2016.

Mrs. Aguilar was strong in her faith and family. She was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista.

She loved God and going to church, reading her bible, cooking for her family, cleaning her home, her morning coffee, and she absolutely loved her Winnie L family. She was always well dressed, complete with her perfume.

Mrs. Aguilar was preceded in death by her parents, Sidronio and Pauline Silva; her husband, Domingo Aguilar Sr.; sons, Domingo Aguilar Jr., Andrew Aguilar and Daniel Aguilar; and brothers, Sidronio Silva Jr., Paul Silva and Zeke Silva.

Survivors are her sons, Louis Aguilar and wife Ann of Houston, Steve Aguilar of Rockdale; her daughters, Mary Jo Bocanegra and husband Victor of Rockdale, Lisa Johnston and husband Rhett of Belton, Cyndi Ingram and husband Tracy of Milano; her brothers, Ruben Silva and wife Angie of Milano, Robert Silva and wife Annie of Houston, Frank Silva and wife Donna of Indiana; and her sisters, Alice Davila of Houston, Terry Caywood of Minerva; also, 15 grandchildren, three step-granddaughters, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Chase Ingram, Jack Ingram, William Gonzalez, Steven Aguilar, Andrew Bo Aguilar and Orlando Longoria Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Anthony Aguilar and Ethan Ingram.
