Retchloff

Ted Retchloff, 75, of Rockdale died Monday, May 29, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 1, at Phillips & Lucke y F u ne r al Home in Rockdale with Greg Spears and Bill Harris officiating. Burial followed at I.O.O.F. Cemetery Mr. Retchloff

in Rockdale.

Mr. Retchloff was born Feb. 25, 1948, in La Junta, Colorado, to Clarence Milton and Vera Mae (Setchfi eld) Retchloff.

He served in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant and served as a security specialist during the Vietnam War.

Ted and Glenda Sue Rachui were married on Sept. 2, 1967, in Las Animas, Colorado.

Mr. R etchloff w orked a t Alcoa as security and then had over 30 years in law enforcement. He worked for the Temple Police Department as an officer for five years and another five years with the Department of Public Safety. He also served as a deputy and chief deputy for Milam County Sheriffs Department. During that time he was an agent for the Central Texas Narcotics Task Force.

Af ter retirement, he served as the interim chief for the Cameron Police Department and as an investigator for the Milam County district attorney’s office.

Mr. Retchloff was a member of Milam County Cowboy Church, where he served as an elder and a greeter.

He was also a member of the American Legion and the NRA.

Mr. Retchloff was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Vera Retchloff; a brother, George Retchloff; and a sister, Vera Jo Parrack.

Survivors are his wife, Glenda Sue Retchloff of Rockdale; three daughters, Lori Suzanne LaRue and husband Daniel of Stephenville, Tami Michelle Robison and husband Brian of Montgomery, Amy Melissa Treat and husband Brian of Lorena; a son, Matthew Paul Retchloff and wife Jamie of Rockdale; and eight grandchildren, Nathan and Alexander LaRue, Madelyn and Allyson Treat, Hannah and Jenny Robison and Gabriel and Mattie Retchloff.
