Rogers

Oliver Edward Rogers, 88, of Rockdale died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Mr. Rogers was born May 9, 1933, in the Hanover community in Milam County to Dave Edward and E.D. (Baxter) Rogers.

He joined the Navy and served 22 years until his retirement as a chief petty officer.

He then worked as a propane truck driver.

He married Janice Marie Griffin.

Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and E.D. Rogers; a sister, Jill Allison; and a brother, Ernest “Will” Rogers.

Survivors are his wife, Janice Marie Rogers of Rockdale; a son, David Rogers and wife Wendy of Milano; a daughter, Daisy Waldrep and husband Gary of Rockdale; six grandchildren, Shelbi Rogers, Alli Rogers, Triton Rogers, Darien Waldrep, Shawn Waldrep and Elvis Waldrep; and a sister, Nelda Hamilton of Windsor Locks, Connecticut.
