Funeral service for Margaret “Maggie” Rubio, 67, of Rock-dale will be at

10 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2019, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rock-dale with Rev. Santiago “Jimmy” Hinistroza officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rubio died Saturday, May 4, at her home.

She was born Jan. 28, 1952, in New Deal to Panfilo and Josefina (Aguilar) Montelongo.

She attended school in New Deal and Abernathy.

On March 3, 1968, she married Juan Rubio Sr. in Hereford.

Mrs. Rubio worked for 20 years with the Rockdale ISD as a custodian.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Rubio Sr.on June 15, 2004; her parents; her brothers, Oscar and Henry Montelongo; and her sisters, Virginia and Juanita Montelongo and Ernestine Gonzales.

Survivors are three sons, Juan Rubio Jr., Jay Rubio and wife Abbey, and Christopher Rubio Earl, all of Rockdale; two daughters, Cyndi Neumeyer, Lisa Cooper and husband Tommy, all of Rockdale; her brothers, Freddy Montelongo and wife Carol, Frank Montelongo and Chon Montelongo, all of Rockdale; two sisters, Lupe Castillo and husband Augustine of Hereford, and Pauline Rubio of Rockdale; 14 grandchildren, Sierra Rubio, Sal Paul Bishop, Missy Rubio, Juan Rubio, III, Jon Isaac Rubio, Janea Rubio, Rikki Alexis Rubio, Mikayla Neumeyer, Jagger Rubio, Calli Pipkin, Kolby Neumeyer, Maddox Rubio, Cristiano Rubio-Huezo and Nicole Cooper; and two great-grandchildren, Tristian Bishop-Daniels and Espn Bishop.

Pallbearers will be Juan Rubio III, Jagger Rubio, Kolby Neumeyer, Maddox Rubio, Johnny Stewart and Joseph Montelongo.

Honorary pallbearers are Jon Isaac Rubio and Cristiano Rubio-Huezo.
