Mr. Rydell

Raymond Michael Rydell, 84, of Davilla passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at his home in Davilla.

A funeral service was held Friday, Aug. 25, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Randy Holtzclaw officiating.

Burial was in Davilla Cemetery.

Mr. Rydell was born Jan. 29, 1939, to Benard Helmer and Mary Florence (Parker) Rydell in Holland.

He attended school in Davilla and graduated from Sh a r p Hi g h School.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy.

On April 23, 1977, he married Anesta Caffey in Thorndale.

Mr. Rydell was a member of the Davilla Assembly of God.

He was a compassionate man who was always the first to help anyone with anything. He loved animals and was a good herdsman.

Mr. Rydell was preceded in death by his wife, Anesta Rydell; his parents, Bernard and Mary Rydell; and a brother, Elmer Rydell.

Survivors are his children, Crystal Wallace and husband Joey of Rockdale, Reneé Rydell of Temple, Landon Rydell and wife Emily of Davilla, Austin Rydell of Taylor; a brother, Alfred Rydell and wife Della of Oklahoma; a sister, Greta Maddux of Taylor; his grandchildren, Cheyanne, Patience, Charissa, Christopher, Abby, Raymond Blake, Zoe, Henry, Vivian and Oliver; and his great-grandchildren, Jesse, Elliot, Dakotah, Hudson and Kensley.

Pallbearers were Raymond Blake Rydell, Jason Cargill, Justin Cargill, Russell Adam, Christopher Walmer and Billy Sirkis.
