Seelig

Doris Ann Seelig, 87, of Temple, died Monday, March 28, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Graveside services were held Friday, April 1, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Ms. Seelig was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Rockdale to Edward and Bessie Leona (Henry) Backhaus.

She graduated from Rockdale High School, Class of 1953, and attended St. Edwards University in 1970 and Durham Business College 1970-1971.

Ms. Seelig retired as an assistant executive director with Texas Academy of Family Physicians in Austin.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Temple and Friendship Sunday school class, and a former member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale; a member of Professional Secretaries International, Austin, Texas Chapter; American Business Women’s Association, Town Lake Chapter, Austin, Texas and Texas Society of Association Executives, Austin, Texas.

Ms. Seelig served as president of Gracy Meadow Homeowners Association in Austin and served in the Richards Memorial Auxiliary in Rockdale.

In 2003, she and her sister, Ruth moved to Temple and lived there together.

Ms. Seelig was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ruth Storey.

Survivors are cousins and friends.
