Servantez

Mary Cruz Garza Servantez, 92, of Maryville, Tennessee, formerly of Rockdale, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, in Maryville, Tennessee.

Receiving of friends and family will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rock-dale with graveside services to follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Ms. Servantez was born Feb. 2, 1927 in Rockdale. She was raised in Rockdale, where she also raised her family.

She spent the last 37 years in East Tennessee.

Ms. Servantez was a member of Townsend United Methodist Church in Townsend, Tennessee.

She loved being with her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time in the Smokey Mountains, hiking, drawing, cooking, and was an avid gardener.

Ms. Servantez was preceded in death by her children’s father, Lester Servantez; her parents, Cruz and Sorapia Garza; her siblings, Condio Garza, Gabriel Garza, Nastacho Garza, Ventura Garza, Ciria Garcia, Socorro Garza and Pete Garza; and a son-in-law, Terry Myers.

Survivors are her children, Charles Servantez and Lionel Servantez, both of Rockdale, Diane Servantez of Humble, Brenda Myers of Maryville, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Jamie Servantez, Heath Servantez, Lorne Servantez and wife Karen, Brandi Howell and husband Rodney, Chancey Servantez and wife Tiffney, Kelcey Servantez and wife Mona, Amy Lat-ta and husband Curtis, Kelly Servantez, Cassey Servantez, Alicia Servantez, Mindy Lunsford and husband Will, Natalie Gartman and husband Brian, Jason Myers and wife Annatasia; and a niece, Virginia Lopez; also, many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
