Mr. Simpson

Donnie C. Simpson was born in Fort Worth on Feb. 5, 1943.

He grew up in Rockdale and attended Sam Houston State University.

His father, Love Simpson, died in World War II.

Don was raised by his wonderful mother and stepdad, Pauline and Eli Scarbrough.

Don ma r r ied Ma r y Andrews Simpson in 1969 and they moved to Denver, Colorado, in 1970.

Don worked for Barnes Engineering then later moved to Grand Junction, CO, in 1979 until 1990. He was employed by Colorado MAACO, TIC, CVE and retired with Swinerton Builders.

He retired in 2004 and lived in San Antonio until his passing.

Don was a civil engineer working projects related to industrial mining and commercial construction.

Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and the Texas Longhorns.

He passed away on Jan. 23, 2025.

Don is survived by his two sons, Matt, and Todd; daughter- in law Denese; two grandsons, Cash and Will; brother Mike Scarbrough and ex-wife Mary Andrews Simpson.
