Strong

Eva Faye Strong, 87, of Rockdale died peacefully in her sleep Feb. 13, 2022. She was battling many health issues and most recently began treatment for throat cancer.

Private burial will take place, next to her husband, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

The one constant in her life was attending church and her church family.

Mrs. Strong was preceded in death by her husband of 17 years, Richard “Dick” Strong Jr.; her parents, Stanley B. and Eva L. Renfro; a brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Wanda Renfro; her favorite grandmother, Maude La Carter; a lifelong friend, Billye Marie Bowdoin; and her constant companion for 13 years, Reggie, her black standard poodle.

Survivors are her children, Sherri Fisher Songer of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Clifton “Cliff” Fisher and wife Suzanne of Canyon Lake, Becky Fisher Mathews of Montgomery, Susan Fisher Webb and husband Larry of Corpus Christi and Cindy Ann Strong of Houston; also, nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild and a niece and nephew.
