Summers

Lottie Marie Doss Summers, 80, of Troup died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, at Providence Park Rehab in Tyler.

A Celebration of Life memorial service was held Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, at Lone Star Church in Tyler.

Ms. Summers was born Nov. 11, 1941, to Carlton and Bernice (Rogers) Doss, in Burleson County.

She was of Baptist faith.

Before retiring, she had worked at the New York Store in Tyler.

Ms. Summers had been a resident of Troup since 2000, having previously lived in Whitehouse.

She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening and spending time with her family.

Ms. Summers was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Summers; her father-inlaw, Luther Summers; and her mother-in-law, Verda Summers.

Survivors include a daughter, Trina Beard, and son-in-law Randy of Troup; a grandson, Shawn Beard, and wife Virginia of Troup; a sister, Millie Caywood and husband Ronnie of Rockdale; a brother, Thomas Doss, and wife Aileen of Rockdale; a sister-in-law, Glenda Fuller, and husband Phillip of Madisonville, Kentucky; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
