MOUNT PLEASANT— Margie Lee Thomas, 88, of Mount Pleasant passed away on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022.
Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, with service following at 3 p.m. at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Mount Pleasant.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Mount Pleasant to James Elmer “Tot” Tinker and Blanche Andrews Tinker on May 24, 1933.
She was a lifelong housewife, active in the Titus County Democratic Party and “team mother” for many years to the Flying Queens fast-pitch softball team that was coached by her husband.
She enjoyed gardening, bird-watching, arts and crafts, and doing puzzles.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, P.A. Thomas; and two sisters, Lou Bolling and Bobbye Holden.
Survivors are a sister, Juanita Green of Richardson; a son, Rusty Thomas and wife Gloria “Squeaky” of Rockdale; grandchildren Teri Jenkins and husband Kevin, Cody Thomas, Brad Thomas and wife Pamela, all of Rockdale, and Ryan Thomas and wife Samantha of Hutto; and her great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kaeley, Kenna, Katie, and Karaline Jenkins, Tyler and Ally Thomas, all of Rockdale, Dylan Thomas of Houston, Jocelyn and Ian Thomas of Hutto.
