Wadlington

Doris Lee (Luetge) Wadlington, 92, of Forest Grove died Tuesday, April 24, 2018, in Rockdale.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 28, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with burial following at I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mrs. Wad lington was born Feb. 23, 1926, in New Salem to Henry Augusta and Annie (Schneebeli) Luetge.

She graduated from Rockdale High School in 1943 and attended Austin Business College.

Mrs. Wadlington worked at the Texas Department of State Health Services in Austin and then as a bookkeeper for W.T. Pearson in Rockdale.

She was a member of Forest Grove Christian Church for many years.

She married Lester O. Wadlington on June 9, 1949, at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Austin.

Mrs. Wadlington enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, animals and her dog, Lucy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester O. Wadlington; a son, Randal Wayne Wadlington; a granddaughter, Trista Alyshe Wadlington; infant twin great-grandsons, Henery and Jeffrey Morgan; her parents, Henry and Annie Luetge; two brothers, Louie Luetge Sr. and Perry Luetge; and a son-in-law, David Taylor.

Survivors are her sons, Gary Wadlington, Charles Wadlington and wife Sheila, Carman Wadlington and wife Jenny, all of Rock-dale; her daughters, Karen Taylor of Caldwell, Dana Fatheree and husband Mark of Rockdale; her grandchildren, Charles Henry Wadlington Jr. and wife Jessica, James Dean Parker Jr. and wife Jennifer, Harlan Parker and wife Jessica, Jordan Fatheree, Torin (Wadlington) Morgan and husband Scott, Stacy (Parker) McDonald and husband Kelly, Kayla Wadlington and Martin Vences, and Josephine Parker; and her great-grandchildren, Travis Morgan, Carlee Kae Morgan, Avree Wadlington, Haygen Wadlington, Baby Girl Wadlington on the way, Alexis McDonald, Allyson McDonald, Autumn McDonald, Carson Parker, Jaycee Parker, Julie Parker, David Parker, Ava Vences and Ella Vences; as well as extended family.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Charlie Wadlington, Jimmy Parker, Harlan Parker, Jordan Fatheree, Scott Morgan, Kelly McDonald and Martin Vences.

Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandsons, Travis Morgan, Carson Parker, David Parker and Haygen Wadlington; also, Robert von Gonten, Ernest Garza, Bob Fisher, Morris Kyle, Butch Holliman, Jimmy Keen, Kenny Schneebeli, Larry Wadlington and Benny Wadlington.
