Wilganowski

Alvin John Wilganowski, 79 ,of Rockdale, formerly of Bremond, died Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Graveside services were held Friday, May 20, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bremond with Father Celso Yu of St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiating.

Mr. Wilganowski was born near Bremond on Oct. 8, 1942, to Joseph Ike and Mary Christine (Wachel) Wilganowski.

He graduated from Bremond High School with the Class of 1960.

In 1965, he married Janis Flanagan in Bremond.

Mr. Wilganowski worked with Alcoa in Rockdale for 32 years in the metal service department.

He would fish and garden in his younger years and enjoyed traveling to the Rocky Mountains and Canada.

Mr. Wilganowski was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Ike, in 1963 and his mother, Mary, in 2000; twin siblings, Marion and Lee in 1940; and brothers Floyd in 2012 and Ernest in 2015.

Survivors are his wife, Janis Wilganowski of Rockdale; two daughters, Angie Wilganowski and Ashlie Blair, both of Montgomery; two grandchildren, Jordyn and Brooks Blair; and a sister, Bernadine Kitchen of Grand Prairie.
