Hernandez

Mary C. Hernandez, 90, of Cameron died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 28, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Calvin Johnson officiating. Burial followed at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Mrs. Hernandez was born Aug. 3, 1930, in Gause to William Jackson and Lucinda (Bunn) Greene.

She worked in the health field as a nurse’s aide.

Mrs. Hernandez enjoyed reading and gardening.

On May 7, 1988, she married Simon G. Hernandez in Rockdale.

Mrs. Hernandez was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Hernandez; two sons, David Johnson and Curtis Johnson; two daughters, Cindy Sanders and Carol McDaniel; a granddaughter, Cathleen Phillips; also, her parents and 19 siblings.

Surviving are four sons, Robert Johnson and wife Debbie of Wichita, Kansas, Darrell Johnson and wife Bonnie of Milano, William Johnson and wife Juanita of Taylor, Calvin Johnson and wife Bobbie of Crockett; also, 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons Thomas Johnson and Tim Johnson, sons Calvin, William, Darrell and Robert Johnson.
