In front of what was a packed house at the Geneva Paceley Gym, the Milano Eagles and Thorndale Bulldogs battled for the top spot in 27-2A. The game, which had 11 lead changes, came down to the final minute. Hosting MHS outscored THS 8-1 to take the game 52-47, and escape as the one district team to remain undefeated following the game.
Although Rockdale basketball teams were not in action Friday evening, the Lady Tigers did take down rival Cameron 49-46 on the other side of the Little River last Tuesday.
Rockdale High School boys’ soccer came within one goal of beating La Grange on Monday, a team that has finished first or second in district the past three seasons, 5-4.
Rockdale High School golfers went east to Navasota yesterday where senior Jake Hasselbach finished as a silver medalist, shooting an 82. Other Tiger golfers were A.J. Hicks (106), Creek Windham (108), Carson Eoff (116), and Mason Meschwitz (122).
