Thorndale’s Lady Dog basketball team opened up play in District 27-2A with a 42-30 road win over Hearne, marking the first time THS has defeated the Lady Eagles since Dec. 17, 2019.
Eagle basketball fell to Iola on the road Friday evening.
On Sunday, the Bryan Eagle released their 24th annual All-Brazos Valley volleyball teams with Rockdale’s Julie Bartsch being selected for the third team.
Since there were too many memories to choose from for last week’s ‘Best of 2021 in Sports,’ this week’s edition has more photos from 2021 ranging from local high school sports in Rockdale, Milano and Thorndale to area youth that won gold at the Junior Olympics and swimmers that competed at the state championships meet.
Last month, 21 Rockdale Tiger football players earned District 11-3A-I honors following the conclusion of the 2021 season.
