Rockdale softball fans will have to wait until the March 10 District 19-3A game against Lexington to watch the Lady Tigers take the field at home.
Golf Coach Ethan Noel took five players to the Hutto Golf Tournament last week, where 30 teams competed at the par 71 Star Ranch Golf Course.
Back in 1957 when the Rockdale Relays first started, it was the sprint events that captivated the crowd. Male athletes (there were no female events until the 70s) from 26 schools ran on a state-ofthe-art lighted cinder track and Brenham’s 440-yarddash relay team helped christen the new track by defeating Lampasas in front of a crowd of 400 people.
Both boys and girls soccer teams, who are struggling through injuries, lost their District 26-4A matches.
