According to the National Occupant Protection Use Survey conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the prevalence of drivers using handheld cell phones at any given daylight moment decreased from 5.2 percent in 2012 to 2.5 percent in 2021.
Inormally attend the monthly meeting of the Milam County Fire Chiefs Association where we discuss many issues and challenges that our local Volunteer Fire Departments face on a daily and longterm basis. Like many volunteer organizations in Milam County, we discuss various issues like funding, supplies, fuel, and several others. While most of us can’t help personally with many of these items, almost all of us can help with one thing, giving our time.
