Meal pickup plan announced in RISD
When classes begin Aug. 13 in the Rockdale ISD, Southwest Food Service Excellence will provide meals-to-go for students choosing virtual learning.
Business of the month
Mr. Gatti’s Pizza has been named business of the month for July by the Rockdale Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center. Pictured are owner Wendy Pickett, Taylor Pickett, Sebastian Medina, Emma Pickett, Kelli McCall and Pat Watson with the Chamber. Pickett purchased Mr. Gattis in March. It was remodeled and re-opened in May.
Tax rates not rising in 2020
It’s tax-rate-setting time for Rockdale area entities and three of the four who have property taxing authority over local residents have indicated there won’t be any tax rate increases on the way in 2020
'Remote’ restrictions
Students in the Rockdale ISD who choose all-remote (on-line) as school starts won’t be able to participate in extra-curricular activities or take elective classes.
