The Milam County Historical Commission received the Distinguished Service Award for 2021 from the Texas Historical Commission. The group has received this award many times in the past, which is a huge accomplishment for a small rural county. Food bank at KC Hall
The Central Texas Food Bank will be at the KC Hall on Thursday and Friday of this week from 10 a.m. to 12-noon, Masks are required for entering the building and one will be provided if needed.
Feral swine eradication, control offered in Milam County
TEMPLE — The Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB) is working with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Texas Wildlife Damage Management Association (TWDMA), Texas A&M Natural Resources Institute (NRI), Texas Farm Bureau (TFB), and three local Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD) to help address the issues that feral swine pose to agriculture, ecosystems and the health of humans and animals.
