According to the U.S. Department of Justice Eastern District of Texas, seven Texas doctors and a hospital executive have agreed to pay a total of $1,106,449 to resolve False Claims Act allegations involving illegal remuneration in violation of the Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law, and to cooperate with the Department’s investigations of and litigation against other parties, announced Eastern District of Texas U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston.
DOWNTOWN DÉJÀ VU—Concrete work that was poured in the 100 block of East Cameron Avenue a few months ago was being torn up and re-poured last week due to it being set up at the wrong grade by Big Creek Construction, the company hired by TxDOT to build Rockdale’s downtown project. At the grade it was poured, rainwater would have entered the businesses through their front doors.
The Little River Basin Master Gardeners of Milam County are offering Master Gardener classes starting Feb. 2 every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cameron Chamber of Commerce.
