Rockdale High School golf teams wrapped up the District 19-3A tournament on Monday at Temple’s Wildflower Country Club, where the Tigers placed second and earned their 14th consecutive trip to regionals.
For the second straight year, Rockdale High School junior Yolianna Castillo will play in the Region III tennis Howcourt tournament. ever, she won’t be alone on the this time and will be joined by sophomore Mason Willard after the pair won silver at the district tournament in Georgetown last week.
Last Wednesday at Tiger Gymnasium, RHS senior Taytum Young signed her letter of intent to continue her cheerleading career at Tarleton State University in Stephenville. As a former gymnast who didn’t cheer for the Blue-and-Gold until her junior year, Young described the opportunity as unexpected.
In what Tiger coach Chris Van Cleave described as a solid showing in their final tune up before the upcoming District 19-3A track meet, the Blue-and-Gold went head-to-head with rival Cameron, finishing second behind the Yoemen, 134-132, at the conclusion of Thrall’s Tiger Relays this past Thursday.
